An Open Letter to Novel Talk Authors

Dear Ones,

It was with a certain amount of sadness that I tendered my resignation last fall as review coordinator and reviewer for I am leaving a wide range of enjoyment I received while reading your books.

As I complete the tasks I need to do, one of the most important is to tell all of you how much I enjoyed reviewing for you, whether you are one of the "new" winners or those who have a long list of books to be proud of.  You have brought me laughter.  You have brought me tears.  You have taught me about areas I have never known and others that I know well.  And you have always given me happy endings.

I am not only a lover of books.  I am a published nonfiction writer, so I know the joy when a book or article is published.  I also know it is not always easy.  And being a life-long "helper", I love to see others succeed, as they reach goals they have placed for themselves, .  Above all, I have made friends that I would never have known.

But though I have really liked what I have been able to do, I have something that I love to do.  I am, heart and soul, an artist, and at this moment, I am stepping out to prove that I can do as an artist, what all of you have done as writers.

So I thank you for this short journey in years with NovelTalk, because it has been long in enjoyment.  I hope you wish me well, as I wish God-speed to you all.

Lucele Coutts.

DARING THE UNDERWORLD by C.S. Chatterly

Romantica/Erotica

Released on January 2008 by Total-E-Bound Publishing.

Tired of dating stuffed shirt losers vice cop, Lisa Portelli is craving excitement and changes in her love life. Intrigued by the strange invitation she gets in a flame-red envelope, she decides to visit Pluto’s domain at a modern bordello called Women’s Pleasure Incorporated and see what is there in store for her. Can a vice cop find common ground with the Ruler of the Underworld?

Lisa caught my attention with her meddling in the first installment in the Uniform Behaviour series and I was eagerly waiting for her to put up an appearance in her own story. Lisa has led a cushioned life and her job as a vice cop has brought her more in sync with reality. I could feel her loneliness and her intense desire for companionship. Even though she felt that the invitation was a joke, I was secretly urging for her to take it up as I desperately wanted to uncover the mysterious man behind it. Many things about Pluto managed to shock me and I never really came out from the sexual haze he created. The sex is instant no doubt, but is scorching as hell and mind blowing. Each move generated such exquisite pleasure that I couldn’t help but moan at the intensity of it all. They discovered and re-discovered each other during the entire time and I could clearly see sparks strong enough to jumpstart a relationship. I liked the way the author gave this couple time to sort out their feelings and reach out for each other. With a heavy focus on sex, the plot effectively followed Lisa on her trip to find her heart’s desire. Ms. Chatterly managed to woo me with her setting of the fantasy Underworld Room. She deftly described each corner and forced me to stay and explore the entire surroundings till the end. I enjoyed meeting Cathy and Ian from the earlier book. Reality and fantasy collide in this second installment in the Uniform Behaviour series, Daring the Underworld taking the readers on a crazy and sexy ride that won’t be easy to forget!
